Role overview
For our Health Program in Ethiopia we are currently recruiting a paediatrician for Wolaita Sodo Hospital. As a paediatrician you'll be sharing skills and knowledge with staff in the paediatrics department and providing clinical services in the hospital. Your job will be to perform medical examinations, diagnose, prescribe medicine and treatment. You'll also audit neonatal and paediatric morbidity. You'll manage medical documentation and advise how to improve the information system in place. During medical conferences you'll address complicated paediatric cases. You'll help set up a neonatal unit in the hospital. All this in a setting with limited resources, but also with the opportunity to gain experience with different patterns of diseases.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
You will have a Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years specialist experience in paediatrics (in the UK completed ST5 at time of departure).

Prior experience in clinical teaching in the area of paediatric care is desirable. It would be preferable for the candidate to be able to commit to a six month placement; however there is flexibility with the length of placement to be as short as three months.
